Venture Outdoors Presents An Allegheny Cemetery Walk

Join Venture Outdoors for an entertaining afternoon at the oldest institution of its kind west of the Allegheny Mountains and the fourth incorporated cemetery in the United States. As you stroll through this cemetery, you will learn the history that surrounds this resting place and of the famous people that call it home.

Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit Bernard Dog Run

The Lawrenceville Gourmet Spaghetti Dinner, founded by the Boys of Lawrenceville, marks its return on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Teamster Temple in Lawrenceville. This annual fund-raising event will benefit the Bernard Dog Run, a community initiative to build an off-leash dog park for the residents of Lawrenceville. The dinner will also benefit the local nonprofit animal resource center, Animal Friends.

Mike Egan is a comtemporary folk artist from Pittsburgh, PA who has spent time working as an embalmer in funeral homes. His paintings are acrylic paint, shellac, wood and nails. They tell stories about death, devils and saints. He is greatly influenced by the Day of the Dead, Halloween, horror films, churches, the German Expressionists and his time in funeral homes.

Owner Deena H. Blumenfeld is a Certified Khalsa Way™ Prenatal Yoga Teacher and Lamaze® Certified Childbirth Educator. She has been practicing yoga for more than 15 years. She became a certified Yoga instructor through 3rd Street Yoga in December 2008.

Strange Animals Literary Series at Hambone's Pub

Hambone's Pub is hosting a community literary series this Sunday, that's part workshop, part open mic. Bring your journals and your writing, and meet with other writers to share and help each other with your works. The evening will start with a brief writing prompt to get everyone warmed up. Then, people will break into groups to have constructive supportive workshop sessions. MFA student and poet, Sara Emily Kuntz, will facilitate discussion and all are welcome to attend.
